By the beginning of (1)312 and awaiting for the taxes of the mentioned year to be authorized, it has been decided [by the council] to nominate Shlomo Effendi in Jaffa, Al-Hâj Muhammad al-Mughrabî in Bâb al-Wâd and khwâjah Zâtin al-Mûsawî as officers of the carriage road taxes, Salîm Jum'ah of animal and brokerage taxes, al-Hâj Husayn Abû-'Arab of leisure carriages' taxes and Hasan Wahbah Effendi of slaughtering taxes, in accordance with the salaries decided in the former years and with guarantors. In order for this to be clarified, this decision was taken on the 27th of Shubât (1)311 (10th of March 1896).
