While looking to appoint the best candidate to rent the new hotel, Khawâja Fast, the German was the fittest, on condition that he makes some repairs, such as opening and closing some stores and doors. After inspections, it turned out that a sum of 6,146 piasters to be paid in installments is needed. If the location is proposed for Dutch auction, the constructions will not be strong enough. Accordingly, the council has decided to do what is necessary by the municipality and with the knowledge of one of us, Muhammad ‘Abdul-Wahhab Effendi, Shlomo Effendi and the engineer, especially since the expenses will not exceed the mentioned sum. In order to obtain approval and pay what is needed from the municipality's treasury this decision was taken on the 28th of Mâyîs (1)313 (9th of June 1897).
