Drawing on the consultation that has been already done, the council has decided to use the room beneath the library in the public garden as a coffeehouse managed by As‘ad al-Nabulsî. This will be under the condition not to oblige the clients to drink coffee unless they ask for it. [Also,] coffee is to be served for free to all the members of the military band. [Thus, Mr. al-Nabilsî] has to pay three Majîdîs per month. So far, he has paid twelve Majîdîs for four months starting from the month of Mârt until the month Huzayrân [of 1315]. Accordingly, this decision was taken for the [above-] mentioned four months on the 17th of Huzayrân (1)315 (29th of June 1899).
