The centre is a repository of a great number of microfilms from libraries throughout Palestine. There are copies of most important libraries including private family collections.
There are also 600 original manuscripts and approximately 300 historical registers from the Islamic court. In addition, there are dozens of newspapers and magazines and about 6,000 books. The laboratory at the centre treats the manuscripts and documents that require restoration. The centre leads national projects such as the publication of the catalogue of manuscripts in Palestine by Hussam Eddin Affana and Mohammad Suffadi (Jerusalem, 2000 and 2005). The centre’s vision is to expand the purchase of microfilms and digital images and develop the online access.
