Upon the letter, dated 15 April 1917 and numbered 9389/12, given by the Waqfs Director and handed over by the mutasarrifate
Due to the current strait in the municipal fund, it is impossible to appoint cleaning officers at the said gates. After all, there are gatekeepers employed there by the waqfs. Leaving aside the possibility of appointing cleaning officers to other gates in case of a financial improvement in th fund, it has thus been considered appropriate that, for the time being, only one officer be appointed to Bab-al-silsile, and that the situation be accordingly notified. The 28th of Nîsân (1)333 (28th of April 1917).
