It has been found urgent to clean the dust piled up on the road leading from Jaffa Gate to al-astâsîna?, from Fast Hotel to the the Abrahamic Zâwiya and from the mentioned hotel to the road leading to Tulûl al-Masâbîn in the direction of Hasan Bik palace. By consultation, it has been found necessary to assign four workers for (al-shamandûqiyya) road under the supervision of al-Mughrabî who already guards Birkat al-Sultân, three workers for the road of Damascus Gate and two workers, a boy and three animals for the road behind al-Maskûbiyya. The work on these roads will be supervised by ‘Abid Tûta with the exception of al-shamandûqiyya road. Tûta will be paid eight piasters to be paid in installments. In order to furnish the nominated workers with needed sweepers with the knowledge of one of us, the respectables Abdullah Effendi, Nâjî Effendi and Husayn Effendi, this decision was taken on the 17th of Huzayrân (1)315 (29th of June 1899).
