The petitioner was a teacher at Hirpe with a salary of 2 French liras. In August 1887 he came to Jerusalem and learnt that his salary was reduced. The patriarch ordered his salary to become 150 piastres and because he refused to accept it, the Eforia ordered him to return to the old salary. He learnt however that the new salary is now 1 French pound without previous notice. So he asks to receive 2 French liras and to be appointed somewhere else because he learnt that the school at Herbs stopped functioning. The case was appointed to the Eforia.
