It has been decided definitely (?) to do what is needed in order to sprinkle water from outside Jaffa Gate until the entrance of the municipality’s building (khânat al dâ’ira al baladiyya). In order to supervise the calculation of the water skins (needed) and their sprinkling, the council decided to nominate Mahmûd and Muhî al Dîn Effendi, Al Shaykh Nûr and ‘Amr Effendi al ‘Alami and Farfar beginning from the date of the start of sprinkling with a monthly salary each of seven majîdi and a half. And in order to attest to this, this decision was taken on the 30th of Nîsân (1)314 (12th of May 1898).
