Because of the scarce sesame season in Jerusalem and the consequent high prices, it became necessary for the governorate to contact the subdistrict of Haifa to purchase sufficient amounts of sesame. Therefore, it was decided to purchase 10,000 ounces of sesame from Haifa. The price of an ounce of one kind of sesame has been set at 13.5 piasters, and others were set at 14 piasters. After calculating the cost, it became evident that the jar of sesame oil equals the amount of 410 piasters of sesame after the cost of fodder, fuel and workers. Therefore, the council has decided to charge 410 piasters and announce the procedures to the inhabitants. Therefore, this decision was issued on the 15th of Nîsân (1)333 (15th of April 1917).
