The marginal note, dated 20 June 1908, presented by Vahid bin İsmail Mekiye, the multazim of the livestock sale tax for 1322 (1906-1907)
As is stated in the marginal note, dated 18 June 1908, given by our council upon the petition, dated 16 June 1908, presented by the petitioner and then relegated to our municipality, Vahid bin İsmail Mekiye is the multazim of the livestock sale tax of the centre of Jerusalem for 1322 (1906-1907), pertaining to the goods’ and municipal funds. Even though he states in this petition that he is not informed of the said iltizam, this iltizam (the status of the multazim of the livestock sale tax) has been carried out by the Sanjak Administrative Council and its bill has been approved with a certificate. As for the said taxes, 1,645 piasters have so far been taken for the share pertaining to the municipality and there remains 2,854 piasters in the debit of the petitioner; and it has been decided that he be arrested until he pays the due sum. It is appropriate to relegate the matter to relevant authorities to explain that one must go to law if he has a case related to this. The 11th of Huzayrân (1)324 (24th of June 1908).
