In the Waqf Inheritance section, the number of documents approaches a million and a half; as well there are 2,500 manuscripts covering various subjects, including religion, philosophy, Arabic language, history and so on. Among them, the Open Jerusalem team selected a body of 41 files (totalizing 668 pages) issued by the Jerusalem Awqâf administration and related to Moghrabi neighborhood in Jerusalem.
Note : the spelling is “Mograbi” from Arabic to English, and “Maghariba” from Ottoman Turkish to English.

Document of the Abu Madyan Waqf for the procurement of food and bread to be distributed in the months of Ramadan, Receb, Shaban and Ramadan.

The lodges who take food from other lodges, the names of the needy and various other jobs.

Name of the Waqf: Zawiya Abu Madyan al-Gauth.
It is told that according to the conditions situated in the waqfiyya (according to the will/wish of the endower), some kind of clothes were distributed among the poor of the neighborhood. Kind of the cloth, amount, and the names of the receivers were all recorded by the waqf administration.
