The Correspondence Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Hariciye Mektubi Kalemi) is the unit that conducts the correspondences of the ministry with the other ministries and offices in İstanbul and the institutions and organizations in the country. To this end, the documents in this catalogue are related to the ban on the jerque and evolvement of the obscene publications; ban on the selling of black captives; announcement of the hatt-ı hümayuns, published on the occasion of the sultans’ enthronement, to the public; and thanks for the congratulations on the bairams and Christmas.
