Necessity to established special commission regarding the costs of the street lighting: On the cleaning and lighting of the regions outside the city walls in Jerusalem. The said matter was discussed in the council. Since the municipal budget to the account of the new year is now being arranged and since it is necessary to auction the taxes pertaining to the goods’ fund and the municipality, and finally, to open to Dutch auction the cost to be spent for the lighting of the city, our council’s workload is quite high. Hence, there will be a delay in the implementation of the matters specified in the decision given by the Sanjak Administrative Council. Since the delay of such important affairs is never deemed permissible, although it has been decided that a special commission be established and the problem be resolved by this commission, taking the necessary action in respect thereof is subject to the approval by the office of Mutasarrifate. The 2nd of Mârt (1)315 (14th of March 1899).
