Upon the petition given by Yoil Musa Salomon, David and Nahum Sirkemin Ben Yahuda Yosef Hayyim Zeninfilt Ben Salamo (?) regarding the issuing of license for the buildings to be constructed by them
In the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ letter dated 15 August 1908 and numbered 58, written upon the correspondence concerning the building taxes taken in Jerusalem, it is stated that the said taxes be determined by administrative and municipal councils on condition that the sum not exceed that of the tax taken in İstanbul, and that it would be suitable to make it reach a proper level. A permission has been requested about this matter and the situation has been relegated to the Sanjak Administrative Council. Hence, following the copy found appropriate by our council, the owner of this building has been demanded to give the same amount of tax as taken in İstanbul. However, since this petition was given before the arrival of the decree concerning this matter, he requested that he pay the amount of tax taken for a long while. Hence, for explaining the method of taking a building tax from him, it is appropriate to relegate the matter to the Sanjak Administrative Council.
