Upon the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ letter dated 15 August and numbered 58 regarding the building tax
Apart from the hamam of the building to be constructed, surface area of the appurtenances, all floors, including the ground floor, and the bay windows on enclosed balconies shall be measured and the tax shall be accordingly taken on the basis of total archine of measurement: If the ground of household appurtenances is not made up of 100 archine and there are two floors, 0.1 piasters of building tax is here taken from each archine, as half the amount of taxes in İstanbul; if the ground is more or less than 100 archine and the building is three-floored, 0.2 piasters from each archine; and 0.4 piasters from each archine of stores; however, it has been considered by our council that the amount of tax taken in İstanbul, i.e., the amount previously taken as specified in the 9. section of the Public Buildings Regulation be doubled here. Nonetheless, for negotiating the issue and explaining the necessary course of action, it is appropriate to relegate the matter to the Sanjak Administrative Council.
