History of the Orthodox pilgrimage in the Holy Land, the foundation of the Russian institutions: the Mission, Palestine Committee and Palestine Society. Activities of Porphyrij Uspensky, Kiril Naumov, Antonin Kapustin. Scientific research of the Russians in Palestine. The future protectorate of the Powers over Palestine. Rivalry between Catholics and Orthodox. Advantages of British protectorate: the British don't practice active proselytism among the Orthodox Arabs.
