The report that comes from the doctor indicated that the fish which comes from the Jordan River, Port Said and Gaza to Jerusalem in summertime are hazardous to health and shall cause disease. Thus, the people in charge are advised not to import fish from the Jordan River. Additionally, it has been advised not to bring fish from Port Said and Gaza, as well. In case the fish is imported, they will be destroyed and those responsible will be fined in cash. It is appropriate to refer this matter to the governors of Jaffa and Gaza district via written decree. The 17th of Mâyis 1311 (29th of May 1895).
