Scope and content

Six fire pumps, which were requested from Europe to be used in the sanjak of Jerusalem, have now reached Jaffa. Since it is understood that such goods which shall be used for the public good be exempted from customs duties, it is appropriate to write a decree from the Mutasarrifate and report the matter to the Jaffa Tax Directorate for the purpose of not taking any customs duty from the said pumps. The 20th of Mârt (1)311 (1st of April 1895).
