To the threshold of the Sultan
True serfs are unable to express thanks for the flowing emotions of the High Sultan, as are those who live under the mercy of the state, in respect to the formation of the Chamber of Deputies and the publishing of the basic law, which are amongst the great deeds he has exerted in his field of work. This has brought the good life back to us and has spread happiness and joy in our hearts, and we are ready to sacrifice our lives and souls for the satisfaction of the great Caliph. How can we spare any effort when our human feelings prevail in the building of our nation and our material and moral lives. Therefore, we are presenting a petition of thanks for the Sultan. The 23rd of Tammûz (1)324 (5th of August 1908).
