It has been mentioned in the governmental orders dated on the 16th of Shubât (1)325, number 10612, which were presented by the fifth military command, that in order to appoint the necessary personnel in the imperial provinces, around 500 military officers, in particular non-Muslims, are needed in Beirut. Until now no orders have been issued to bring them under duress, and it is preferable to recruit them by their own free will. All non-Muslims who wish to join the army should contact the military department in Jerusalem. In order for this to be known, these directions were published on the 8th of Mârt (1)326 (21st of March 1910).
